Best of Salt Lake City
I finally made it to Salt Lake City and what made it even better was exploring all it’s beautiful spots with some amazing creators. Although this is my full guide to Salt Lake City, some locations are a bit of a drive and the main focus is going to be around the can’t miss photo opportunities!
Where To Stay
Kimpton Monaco Hotel in Salt Lake City is the only place to consider when visiting for many reasons.
The Kimpton Monaco
Starting with Location, YOU CAN’T BEAT IT. It’s walking distance to a ton of cute restaurants like The Ivy or Blue Iguana, kitty corner to the cutest little bakery. It is also only a few minutes from the shopping central, which is also great for last minute needs!
Now onto the best part, the comfort!! You can tell so much thought was put into the rooms here at the Kimpton Monaco. The beds are so comfortable and they even have robes to lounge in when in the room. I couldn’t get over how beautiful the bed frames were. The room has a mini fridge, plenty of storage and a microwave can be requested!

Everywhere you find in the Kimpton Monaco is inviting you to sit and relax. They have a beautiful lobby and plenty of inviting areas to had this fantastic bright feel to it. With luminescent tiles and a minimalist classic feel. Great lighting for getting ready, perfect shower pressure and spacious tub for when in need of a little extra relaxation after a long day. Having the extra mirrors around the room also helped when it came to wanting our own space getting ready.

Bonneville Salt Flats
The Salt Flats are around an 1 hour 45 minutes away from downtown Salt Lake. It’s completely free and completely awesome!
We rented gowns from Utah Gown Rentals and it made our shots there even better! You can walk around and take in the beautiful scenery or even take your car for a drive! We saw many and did a bit ourselves but I highly recommend looking into the safety precautions there to be safe.

Little Sahara Sand Dunes
IMPORTANT TO READ THESE NOTES
- Around 2 hours from downtown
- Cost $18, can be paid online with card ahead of time or you can login on your phone and do it there.
- IT’S WINDY AS SH*T… We made it work but we thought it would be nice and calm and apparently its beyond windy ALWAYS.
- Bring sunglasses or something for your eye to protect from sand
- As it gets later in the night it gets quite cold! If you are going to take photos like us, bring comfy warm clothes and some kind of shoes because we got CHILLY.
- HAVE SO MUCH FUN!
Alpine
We went to Alpine for the wild flowers but were blown away by the beauty everywhere we turned. We were about a few too early for some of them to bloom so I recommend very end of May or early June!
Lambert Park
Lambert Park is a great spot in Alpine full of beautiful flowers and stunning mountain views. We shot here for a little bit and enjoyed the beautiful views. As you can see in the middle photo there was even a man painting, he was so talented we loved taking a peak at his work.

Purple Flowers
We found these bushes of purple flowers along the neighborhoods as we were leaving Lambert Park. They made the perfect backdrop.

Vineyard Beach
We picked up food from Chubby’s and then headed to Vineyard Beach for a picnic. It was the perfect break in our day but still perfect for a few groups shots. Loved every minute with these ladies.

Utah Lake Shore Trail
Right down the road from Vineyard Beach is a lovely little wild flower trail. We were here mid/late May and they were blooming beautifully. Please be sure to stay in openings and not step on the flowers.

Getting around with Avail
Utah has so much to offer but it definitely is a bit spread out. I highly recommend renting a car with Avail on your trip. The best part is you can also leave your car at the Avail at your local airport before flying to make a little extra cash on letting someone else borrow it while you are gone!

Where to Eat
The focus of our trip was not food but boy did we get lucky with some good and photo-worthy spots!

Kitty Corner from the Kimpton Hotel and right downtown Salt Lake City is the cutest most instagram-worthy cafe. We ordered the match the aesthetic; a croissant, an espresso and sparkling water. We loved sitting outside on our last day to enjoy the atmosphere and amazing goods.
The Ivy
The Ivy is located around the corner from Kimpton. We went for dinner and drinks and everything was amazing. The decor was my favorite part, I am a sucker for the Boho/Rustic Modern vibes! I also highly recommend the Hibiscus Margaritas.

The trip may have started bumpy, and possibly included a hospital visit but couldn’t have ended better. I am so lucky to of gotten such an incredible weekend in such a beautiful place with these ladies. Can’t recommend these spots enough during your next visit!
